The residential area of the people of Acoma (Sky City). Â This is the oldest continuously occupied area for over 2000 years. Â Having survived the brutal attack of the Spanish in 1599, today, the people continue to flourish on top of the 367- foot mesa.Â
Combined with a talent for art from the early age of 13, Miguel is now a resident artist at the New Mexico State Capital as part of the Legislative Arts Collection. Retired and continues to work towards economic growth and education.

Durrae Johanek will be on hand with her fiber arts, baskets, gourds, photography and more during Second Saturday Art Hop.

She will be there with her spinning wheel to demonstrate her spinning. She spins both wool and exotic hair including dog hair which she uses to make many of her products — including knit, crocheted or felted hats. Her work is on display all month (closed Mondays and Tuesdays) through the month of January.

Janet Caliri will be offering Intuitive Card Readings as a regular event at Second Saturday Art Hops beginning this month, January 13th! 5:30pm-8:00pm. Suggested donation $20-$40.Â
The readings support you looking at specific topic from a different perspective. These cards give you additional insight, advice, and answers - Taking a closer look at relationship, an on-going process, specific issue or problem, or a choice you need to make.Â
