On Saturday, November 28, we encourage you to get a start on your holiday shopping in small, locally-owned businesses. Before you start searching the big online shops, take a stroll through downtown T or C, check out the stores in Elephant Butte, or see what some shops in smaller towns such as Hillsboro, Caballo, Monticello, and Arrey have to offer.

During the holiday shopping season, it’s more important than ever to keep dollars in the local economy. When money is spent at locally-owned businesses, that money continues to circulate in the community. We have fantastic stores and businesses with wonderful items including unique art, clothing, food, and spa treatments. Let's show some love to our local businesses!

Did you know?:

-68 cents of every dollar spent locally stays in the community

-every dollar spent generates an additional 48 cents in local business activity

-small businesses in the U.S. are responsible for 61.1% of net new jobs created since 1995

As an incentive to shop local, on Small Business Saturday, for each $20 you spend at a Sierra County small business, you can enter to win a gift certificate from a local business!
