MainStreet Minute: October 2026

Fall is in full swing in downtown Truth or Consequences, and there are plenty of opportunities to get out, enjoy our community, and support the local businesses that make our town special!

First up, join us for the final concert of the Levitt AMP Truth or Consequences Music Series on Thursday, October 22, from 6 - 9 p.m. at Ralph Edwards Park. We’ve had an incredible season of free live music, bringing together residents and visitors for evenings of music and community. Let’s make this year’s last concert a great one! Bring a lawn chair or blanket, and enjoy one last evening of live music by the river. (The series will continue in 2027 and 2028!)

Next, get your costumes ready for Trick or Treat Downtown on Saturday, October 31, from 6-7 p.m. Bring the kids downtown for an evening of Halloween fun as participating businesses hand out candy and treats. Broadway will be closed to traffic for the event, while Main Avenue will remain open. Be sure to stop by Healing Waters Plaza for our costume contest! This annual tradition is a wonderful way for families to celebrate Halloween while connecting with our downtown businesses.

November brings another opportunity to explore downtown during Second Saturday Art Hop on November 14, from 6 - 9 p.m. Galleries, shops, and other participating businesses will open their doors for an evening of art, shopping, and community. Whether you're looking to discover a new local artist, find a unique gift, or simply enjoy an evening downtown, Art Hop is a great way to experience the creativity that makes T or C special.

Mark your calendar for Small Business Saturday on November 28! This is your chance to show some extra love to the locally owned businesses throughout Sierra County. Any purchases made at Sierra County small businesses that day can earn you raffle tickets for a chance to win gift cards to local businesses. It's a fun way to support our local economy while potentially winning a little something extra for yourself. More details about the raffle will be shared as the date approaches.
