MainStreet Minute - June 2025

MainStreet Truth or Consequences invites you to cool off and explore everything downtown has to offer this summer! With soaring temperatures, there’s no better time to escape the heat by stepping into the air-conditioned comfort of our local shops, galleries, and restaurants. Looking for new clothing or accessories? Gear for your next outdoor adventure? A thoughtful gift, a one-of-a-kind piece of art, or just a relaxing place to enjoy a meal, a drink, or a movie? Downtown T or C has all that, and more!

We’re thrilled to announce that MainStreet T or C has received a Walmart Spark Good grant to install new bike racks downtown. That means more places to securely park your bike while you shop, dine, or play. Stay tuned for updates on where the racks will be located. Thank you, Walmart, for supporting active transportation and a more bike-friendly downtown!

We’re also gearing up for a new initiative to help make downtown even more inviting. Through a recently awarded grant, we’ll be launching “T or C Curb Appeal”, which will provide microgrants to businesses in the MainStreet district for exterior improvements such as fresh paint, new signage, window enhancements, and more. Businesses receiving funding will need to provide a 1:2 cash match toward project costs. While details are still being finalized, we plan to open applications in August, announce grant recipients in early September, and see projects completed by the end of November.

Don’t forget to join us downtown for Second Saturday Art Hop, happening on the second Saturday of every month from 6 to 9 p.m. Local galleries, shops, and venues host art openings, live music, refreshments, and other special events. It’s a great opportunity to enjoy a lively evening with friends or family, explore the creative side of our community, and support local businesses.
