MainStreet Minute: August 2025
Summer may be winding down, but downtown Truth or Consequences is just getting started! MainStreet T or C has a full lineup of events and projects this fall, and we’d love for you to be part of what we have going on.
We’re teaming up with the City of T or C to launch Dancing in the Streetlight, a free outdoor concert series that brings live music, food, and fun to the heart of downtown. Our first concert took place on Friday, August 15 at Healing Waters Plaza. Stevie Bluetone and the Suthern Blend Band provided fantastic music, Rusty Roots BBQ and Big Lou's Kettle Corn supplied tasty fare, and many community members came out to listen and dance. If you missed it, catch our next show on Saturday, September 27! Bring a lawn chair - or just bring your dancing shoes! Band announcements will be posted soon on flyers around town, on our Facebook page and website, and in the SENTINEL.
Local business owners, entrepreneurs, and community leaders gathered at our quarterly Business Breakfast on Monday, August 11 at 8 a.m. at Ingo’s Art Café, 422 N. Broadway. Attendees enjoyed breakfast, connected with other local businesses, and shared updates about their work. Our next Business Breakfast will take place sometime in October/November.
We hosted two community meetings on Tuesday, August 12 to share updates and gather input on two important projects: the downtown Wayfinding signage plan and Foch Street improvements. If you missed these meetings and would like project updates, please contact us!
Our T or C Curb Appeal microgrant program is now accepting applications! If you own a building or business in the downtown district, you can apply for funds to freshen up your exterior through new paint, signs, lighting, and more. Keep an eye out for colorful changes coming soon!
Second Saturday Art Hop is always a lively evening out, but September’s Art Hop (Sept. 13, 6-9 p.m.) will be extra special as we celebrate the 20th anniversary of this beloved monthly tradition and the 20th anniversary of the creation of the Hot Springs Bathhouse and Commercial Historic District. Local galleries, shops, and venues will host special events, live music, art openings, and more. It’s a perfect night to experience downtown in full creative bloom.
