Here are some of the events that took place during March's Second Saturday Art Hop:

RioBravoFineArt: 110 N. Broadway
RioBravoFineArt will have an opening reception for the show, Running with the Wolves, by Dina D’Argo.
This themed show by D’Argo explores, in the words of the artist, “the divine feminine within all humanity, its vital, organic, resilient strength, and its deep ties to the natural forces of the Earth.” Inspiration for this series includes the timeless book “Women Who Run with the Wolves” by Clarissa Pinkola Estes. Much of D’Argo’s recent work celebrates the Earth’s landscape, flora, and fauna with powerful, dreamlike images that invite the mind to roam freely to places that feel familiar yet wild and mysterious, expansive yet deeply personal. And some of the works in this themed show use this concept of dreamlike images. Other images in the show, however, incorporate a bold new style for D’Argo. The bold works in this show have striking representational images, bold background colors, and even strong graphic or textual elements. The wide diversity of styles in this show reflect D’Argo’s continued growth as an artist, a continuing spiritual journey, and a continuing physical healing journey.
D' Argo's paintings have been featured in galleries, design showrooms, and private collections worldwide. She is represented by Third & Wall Art Group and works from a studio at her home in a rural setting of Mesilla Park, New Mexico. This show runs through May 24, 2026.

Truth or Consequences Contemporary: 312 Main
Celebration of Olivia Mercury Pepper’s "Hiraeth”
Truth or Consequences Contemporary is pleased to invite you to join us on the evening of March 14th to celebrate Agile Meteor Press's publication of Olivia Mercury Pepper’s book “Hiraeth”. We could not be happier about this work of art which is more relevant today than ever before. This book an another major release by our publishing endeavor this time featuring the work of Hillsboro poet Olivia Mercury Pepper.
Olivia will read from the work at 7:30pm and will be on hand to discuss the poem the rest of the evening - 6-9pm.
This excerpt from the introduction by Andrew Shaw captures this book perfectly:
"Here, in print, beautifully typeset and offered form, the words oscillate - occupying two possibilities at the same time. A kind of raging, a kind of quietude - and at the center is Pepper’s singular unforced voice that is personal, lyric, and universally true.
It’s a fact that we could burn books and stories would die but the truths that they portray would always remain. Pepper knows that truth is bigger than books and bigger than breath. There is a sense, in the holding of Hiraeth, that the truth now stands a better chance even if singed at the edge,”

Angel Remnants: 405 1/2 N. Broadway
Virginia (Ginny) Hicks is a newcomer to the art scene but not a newcomer to T or C. She is the Deputy district attorney and has worked here protecting our community for the past 13 years. Last year she really started to explore mixed media and has created a side business called Attorneyatart. Her pieces are inspired by glorious colors and strong women. These pieces bring her tremendous joy and she wants to bring that joy to others as well.
