MainStreet Minute: May 2026

Don’t let the summer heat slow you down - there is still a lot going on downtown!

MainStreet T or C is partnering with the City to put on a free downtown concert series this summer, Dancing in the Streetlight. Shows will take place on the First Friday of each month - June 5, July 3, and August 7 - at Healing Waters Plaza. Mark your calendar! Each event will begin at 6 pm and last until about 10 pm. For the June 5 show, Stevie Bluetone is opening and Rockabilly Strangers is headlining. The July 3 show will feature Red Eye Band opening for Tudy Romero and the Silver Bullet Band, and we’ll round out the series on August 7, with Constance opening for the Suthern Blend Band. Bring your lawn chairs, dancing shoes, and all your friends!

As part of our July concert event, we are holding an Independence Day Parade to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The parade is on Friday, July 3, beginning at 5:30 pm (lineup at 5 pm). It will run only along Broadway from the Ralph Edwards fish pond to Bullocks. This will be a fun, casual parade - no entry fee, no judging or prizes, just come out and celebrate America’s birthday. For registration info, visit torcmainstreet.org/parade.

Second Saturday Art Hop continues through the summer (and every second Saturday, year round). Come downtown from 6-9 pm, check out art show openings, hear free live music, have refreshments, and visit shops open late for the event. It’s a great evening out on the town!
