His sound has been compared to Bob Dylan in a recent poll! You can hear the influence of Bluegrass Funk/metal and Alternative Folk dripping from his mini electric acoustic in a 2 finger fret frenzy. Coupled with his scratchy articulate voice , create a dance between lyrical puzzles and, alternative shaping of chords gives him a strangely familiar, yet slightly “outside of the box" sound. Dark Folk with tones of heartbreak on its way to hope. https://rotnae.live

RioBravoFineArt Gallery presents a show fine art pieces in small scale formats opening May 14 from 6 to 9 pm. 110 N. Broadway, Truth or Consequences, NM 87901..Many of the regular artists at the gallery express their creativity in pieces that are of a much smaller format than their usual work. They explore their techniques and concepts in formats that may be only one tenth the size, or even smaller, than their typicpmal art pieces.
This show will be an eclectic collection of artwork representing small format pieces by many of the gallery artists. Some of the small scale pieces will represent a different media than the usual larger format pieces of an artist. For example, one of the gallery artists who typically does oil on canvas will be represented by works of encaustic on wood.
Small scale pieces provide an intriguing look at how an artist can create visual impact in a limited space. For the art collector, small art items often present the opportunity to purchase an assemblage of pieces that distinctly reflect their unique vision for a unique artistic display.
The opening is Second Saturday/Art Hop in Truth or Consequences, and the show runs through June 19 at RioBravoFineArt,® Inc. at 110 Broadway St. Truth or Consequences, NM 87901

Desert Archaic 324 N Broadway Olin B West Selections from the Tabbed Series 2005-2015 Oil on Canvas This land is rightly called, "The Land of Enchantment", for to live among its arid vistas is to discover a new way of seeing. Live here long enough and you'll begin to feel your heart in sync with the timeless round of birth and death and rebirth. Here are truths as uncompromising as the blustery March winds, or as gentle and constant as an old woman grinding corn. Being an artist is a lifestyle; the product of that lifestyle, "the Art" is a way of sharing that experience with others. Olin's works are a sincere effort to share visual, intellectual and emotional points of view using sight to stimulate the formulation of philosophical ideas. Olin's Tabbed series was undertaken from 2005 - 2015. The series marked his departure from plein air painting into the metaphysical world of the abstract. The intent of the work was a study of duality, bringing together in consciousness different elements such as sensory input (new information) and memory (known information) to generate a complex coherent experience when viewing each piece. Olin West was born in Paris, Texas but raised on the plains of Wyoming. He spent time in Oklahoma City, Oakland, California and Denver, Colorado before settling in Sante Fe, New Mexico in 1976 where he became a renowned silversmith and beadworker. In 1997 Olin moved his studio to Truth or Consequences, New Mexico where he has since devoted his full attention to painting.
