What happened Saturday, July 8th, 2023


It was a hot night but that didn't stop people from venturing out in support of the local galleries! Read below to find out what went on during the July Second Saturday Art Hop.


 

Austin Arts Community: 517 Austin St Main St


Works by Truth or Consequences artist Olin B. West are on exhibit at Austin Arts Community, for viewing and purchase and by appointment.

Artist Paul Whitehead, famed for his 1970s collaboration with the rock band Genesis on the group's surrealistic album covers, will be starting work on a mandala sand painting on the terrace during Second Saturday Art Hop.


 


Rebel Roadrunner: 413 Broadway


Come visit the succulent bar at Rebel Roadrunner this Second Saturday Art Hop!

Vic's Broadwaynewmexico: 405 Broadway


Seleena Kareena will be performing at Vic's on Broadway this Second Saturday Art Hop 6 till 9pm. Selena Kareena is an International American Alsharqi Ra’asa with over two decades in the art of dance performance and instruction.

ZIA Gallery: 415 Broadway

Enjoy the works of more than a dozen local artists at ZIA Gallery. Featuring the works of fine artist Bill Jacka, found-object artist Don Hallock, the dot art of Terri Durham, stoneware by Maria Serrot, jewelry by Theresa Basaldua and Diane Kenny, photo prints by Martha Marks and art prints by Bernard Marks, plus the fiber art and fine art works of co-owners Durrae and John Johanek.

RioBravoFineArt: 110 N Broadway


RioBravoFineArt will present a show of work by William Bertrum Sharp opening Saturday, July 8, 2023. This show will be a truly unique event featuring work by an exceptionally talented artist who never fully gained mainstream recognition.




 

Galactic Digs Gallery: 320 N Broadway


We are pleased to present new found object art by Don Hallock as well as new quilted work by Anne Dimit-Buckley. Continuing pieces by Barbara Morrow (weaving and crochet), Virginia Lee (photography), Laurie Lewis (beaded bracelets), Solomon Stone (digital photography) plus Dwight Rudy's ever popular TorC Landing Pads!

 

Snakestone Studios: 324 N Broadway


Snakestone Studios is a newly formed collective of self-representing artists in Truth or Consequences New Mexico exhibiting an eclectic array of styles, mediums, and disciplines. New works by Stacy Brown, June Jewell, Reed Rische, Daymeon Rembert, and Rhonda Dass will be on display from 11-2 and 6-9

Saturday July 8th. Snakestone is now open regular hours and will host a variety of classes, events, and community activities.


 

Studio de La Luz: 308 South Pershing


Janet Caliri will be at the Studio from 5:30 to 8 pm offering Intuitive Card Readings. Readings are by donation, suggested $10 - $40.
