RioBravoFineArt: 110 N. Broadway

The opening show RioBravoFineArt, 110 North Broadway, Truth or Consequences, for Art Hop on Saturday, November 8, 6 to 9 pm, is for a truly astounding quilt maker, Yadi Flannery. Flannery is one of those artists who firmly secure her fiber art in the realm of fine art.
Flannery’s quilts reflect the patchwork sensibility of past artists without being constrained by the past. Some of her quilts incorporate the classic geometric shapes that dominate traditional quilts, but these shapes float freely throughout her quilts. Other quilts have a single geometric pattern defining the quilt, but fabric patterns and colors flow freely underneath and within the overlaying geometric pattern. Regardless of the overall design approach, each of Flannery’s quilts are stunning images rich in an abundance of color and pattern. The show runs through January 25, 2026.
For this exceptional show of Flannery quilts, RioBravoFineArt is partnering with LaGalería, a gem of a gallery located in Mountainair, New Mexico. One of Flannery’s special pieces will be on display at LaGalería concurrent with the show at RioBravoFineArt. LaGalería is in the historic Shaffer Hotel building, a rare example of Pueblo Deco architecture.
The opening of the Flannery show coincides with an ongoing show that introduces two new artists to RioBravoFineArt - Myron Leski and David Schwindt. Schwindt is a longtime, highly accomplished New Mexico landscape artist whose paintings of the Southwest landscape never fail to stunningly capture the astounding beauty and visual drama that permeate the Southwest. Leski is a somewhat recent transplant from the East Coast to New Mexico. His images of the fauna and landscape of the Southwest and the contemporary culture of the West are rendered with a distinct intensity and directness. This dual artist show runs through November 28.
