Old-Fashioned Christmas

MainStreet Truth or Consequences holds its Third Annual Old-Fashioned Christmas on December 10th, 2010.

Many businesses will be open for shopping and will provide hot food, hot drinks and sweet treats for the public.

Once again, Santa Claus will make the rounds, visiting with local kids at the Lee Belle Johnson Senior Center on Foch Street. A community Christmas Tree lighting will take place adjacent to City Hall in Evelyn Renfro Park.   A horse-drawn wagon will carry residents and visitors alike through downtown, lending to the festive atmosphere.

City of T or C crews will supply fire barrels on Broadway and Main Streets, with firewood provided once again by our friends at the US Forest Service Black Range District. Live music will once again be a big part of the event this year, with bands performing at multiple venues throughout downtown.

Stay for the weekend in one of our hot springs hotels and enjoy the Elephant Butte Beachwalk Luminaria Festival and Floating Lights Parade at Elephant Butte Lake State Park on Saturday, December 11th.
